ABABU PERSIAN KITCHEN in Leon Guinto near Taft Avenue
Taft people are starting to become foodies - those who are very enthusiastic about food exploration. This is why a lot of entrepreneurs see this as a great opportunity. You will notice that around Taft, there had been a surge of new restaurants. Good thing I was able to try one just yesterday - Ababu Persian Kitchen!
Although slightly saltier than it should be, this dish offers satisfactory, to great, taste depending on your preference. What's unique about this dish, as compared with that of the Persian Grill, is the presence of sweet corn.
Keema Rice Meal (P109)
Looking like an ordinary "giniling", this Keema Rice Meal is actually fine. However, I still think it's a bit salty, and not to mention, oily.
Tipid Meal - Shawarma Rice Bowl (P49)
I wasn't completely happy with my order (Beef Kabab Rice Meal), but I thought I just had the wrong order. Hence, I tried the shawarma, as well. To my surprise, it just tasted like my previous order. Alright, don't get me wrong because I'm not saying the food didn't taste great. All I'm saying is that the taste didn't seem to match my palate.
The good: Affordable (P49), generous serving of the beef
The bad: Bland-looking, lack of variation
The Overall Bad: Distance (for DLSU students), considerably boring sauce
The Overall Not-So-Good: Taste, appearance
Recommendable? To try, yes! To dine-in frequently, maybe.
Better than Persia Grill? Possibly not.

The Place
Just like what appears in the photo below, the place is more like casual, which is totally fine. However, the only problem with the place based on our visit was that the air-conditioning unit didn't seem to help out in making the temperature cool enough for us to be highly comfy. (Well, I hope that gets fixed soon).

Great find! Love to read you're explorations around taft. Although I live nearby, I don't have the time to get lost in the area anymore. Missing the school life haha
ReplyDeleteThanks Stacy! That's the irony of school and work life isn't it? Haha! We are so eager to get out, and when we are out there, we just want to go back again. Good thing, our love for food stays the same. Haha!
