Mama Lou's Italian Kitchen in Las Piñas

Mama Lou's Italian Kitchen
Mama Lou's Italian Kitchen - one of the best pizza places in town!
Mama Lou's made a seriously loud rave months after it opened up, and hearing friends recommend the place made me really want to try the place out. Now, finally after some n months, I had the opportunity to drop by and enjoy 2 of its dishes.

Mama Lou's - Philippine Tattler
Mama Lou's also hailed by the Philippine Tattler as one of the best restaurants!

Mama Lou's can be loosely considered a hole-in-the-wall restaurant, since it is located away from the cluster of restaurants in the area (i.e. Aguirre St.). However, what's more interesting about the restaurant was its humble beginnings, as it started a home and eventually evolving into one of the best places to eat in Las Piñas (or Parañaque since the place is just near the border).

The interior says so much about its roots. You'll find there simple decorations and ornaments. Perhaps, they want us to focus more on the food and not on the place. Well, I'll say it's working that way. Speaking of food, let's now virtually munch on!

This pizza was superbly balanced with sauce possessing the Italian authenticity of sourness. It was made interesting with the well-blended saltiness from the prosciutto and sweetness from the mango. It's a fantastically refreshing pizza!

Pasta with wild mushroom and truffle cream!
Mama Lou's Risotto Tartufo Funghi

Risotto Tartufo Funghi || P325
This risotto featured a set of chunkier grains with moderate truffle essence. It's magnificent and lovely for those who really want a light and harmonious truffle risotto!

It somehow reminded me of the truffle risotto I had in Cru Steakhouse (read more), but I have to admit that it still holds the title for me when it comes to the risotto (and to think that Cru just considers it a side dish).

That will be all for now, but I'll update this as soon as I come back here in Mama Lou's which is certain because I really fell in love with the food here! The pizza was definitely incredible and the risotto had this great flavor!

Due to this wonderful foodie experience, I'm hailing Mama Lou's as my second favorite restaurant for pizzas!
