Eat-All-You-Can Buffet in The Café of Hyatt City of Dreams
In celebration of my brother and sister's birthday, my sister's ninang treated us to a buffet in The Cafe of Hyatt Hotel. With it, I took the opportunity to document our experience and share it with you, so you'll have an idea of what you may expect here in this buffet place.
I have divided this blog post into parts according to the sections of the buffet. I tried to cover everything as much as possible, so perhaps I was able to to do so at 80%.
When I first stepped foot on the restaurant, I was bewildered with the magnificence exuded by the place. Perhaps I was just thrilled to see something new especially that it was my first time in Hyatt Hotel as well as the City of Dreams.
Alright, we shall now dive into the great stuff -- the food! Let's begin with the appetizer section.
The Deli
This section contains the sushi and sashimi, charcuteries, patés and cheese, salads, bread varieties and terrines, chilled seafood
Here in the bread section you have about 4 variants of bread to choose from, and at least 4 spreads to choose from.
You may also want to have some portions of the sliced meat under the charcuterie section to go with your bread. Of course, you may also have them as is.
If you are trying to live a little healthy, just like me, you should stop by this salad section and have a serving of those fresh greens. Also, you may want to make your own salad, or choose some of the prepared ones such as the quinoa salad, pomelo salad, Greek salad and Chinese sausage salad.
Rise a notch higher in living a healthy life by incorporating fruits to your feast!
Now, this Hotate with Honey Mango Sauce was not only visibly gorgeous but really delightful as well to munch on.
You may also want to check out the broccoli panacotta, polenta with prawn and paneer cheese with tomato salad.
If you are into some seafood delights, you can satisfy your cravings here in this section. You can have some shrimps, clams, lobsters and mussels.
The cheese section includes the camembert, cambozola, gryuere, emmental, fourme d'amber, gouda and tomme de savoie.
Of course, my all time favorite in every buffet place is the sushi. sashimi and rolls section! I am an extreme die-hard fan of salmon sashimi!
I just fell in love with both the tuna and salmon sashimi here in The Cafe because of the thick yet melt-in-your mouth slices. Heaven!
The Italian
This section contains pasta, pizza and other Italian favorites.
This pizza was amazing because of the delicate thin crust. It just made me focus on the sauce, cheese and pepperoni!
The baked lasagna was fine as well. I had 2 servings of them!
I wasn't able to taste this eggplant parmigiana, but I'm sharing the photo anyway because it looks amazing!
Here in The Italian section, you may also request for your customized pasta dish. Just choose among the available ingredients, and the chef will happily cook it for you.
What I requested for was fettuccine with a mix of both red and white sauce. Lovely!
The Asian
This section contains dim sum, Chinese barbeque, wok, noodles and rice
Some of the things you'll find in this section are vegetable dumpling, chicken feet, beef siomai, shrimp hakao, pork and vegetable dumpling, pork siomai and steamed pork spareribs.
Other savory dishes in this section include wok fried chicken with spicy string beans, beijing prawns, beef salpicao and crispy pata in red curry sauce.
And no, it does not stop there. You can also find here black mushroom with tofu, steamed rice (very very special, kidding), nasi goreng and hot and sour soup.
The Comfort and Favorites
This section contains tempura, fried dim sum, pressure fried dishes, fried food from around the world
This tempura was really something I got to enjoy because of the supreme quality of the shrimps. Very tasty especially with the customizable sauce.
If you want to go a little American, you will find them here in this section. They serve truffle fries, fried chicken pops, onion rings and mini burgers!
Again, I wasn't able to try these because I was keeping an eye of the other dishes found here in The Cafe such as the next section.
The Grill and Griddle
This section contains carvery, grill, Teppan griddle, satay, kebab, yakitori
The lechon here in this carving station was definitely tasty, and it was really a superstar. By the time I returned back, most of its skin was all gone. Plus, I love the liver sauce that went with it!
The steak, on the other hand, was not awesome because of its prominent blandness. It was not as amazing as I initially thought it to be, and unfortunately, the sauce weren't able to compensate much.
In fact, I was able to find the Angus Steak of Vikings Buffet in SM Mall of Asia (read more) a notch better.
Thankfully, the skewered meat here in this section were amazing! Plus, the peanut sauce that may go with it was incredible!
The Pastry
This section contains soft serve ice cream, pancakes, waffles and crêpes, Halo-halo, pastries and cakes, bakery
Although the selection is not as wide, there really interesting ones you'll find on the table. One of them was the Green Tea White Chocolate. I'm telling you, it's a must-try!
Of course, when you can't get enough of the Filipino dessert, you may want to have a refreshing serving of the halo-halo!
It may not be that obvious in this photo, but this one is a chocolate bread pudding!
Other interesting finds here in this section are the Key Lime Pie and the Buko Pie. However, I didn't get to try them because I was too full. Still, I bet they were awesome judging by the photos (taking out the fact that looks may be deceiving).
That's about it! I hope you got a great glimpse of what you may find here in The Cafe!
