First Cars that I saw in Hot Summer Nights 6 |
May 18, 2013 - It was during this day that I decided to explore photography more by covering a car show. To tell you the truth, I'm not much of a car enthusiast, but with the hope of developing an interest, I chose to attend this event. Fortunately, my good friend
Nathaniel Chan (along with JD Castillo) tagged along with me to cover as well, and teach me some of the basics.
To give you an idea: this event, entitled
Hot Summer Nights 6, was held in the IMAX Open Parking Grounds and officially opened 4:00pm while the program started at about 7:00pm. Unfortunately, we weren't able to stay that long for the program.
Basically, in this non-food-related blog post, I'm just going to share selected photos from my first-ever on-field photography exercise. I hope you'll enjoy!
For the first shots, I was still getting the hang of it. I didn't know exactly how to capture the subjects (i.e. cars), so I decided to just toy with the camera first. Later on, I asked Nat to let me see his shots. That was the time when I got an idea on how to go about it.

During this time, I was starting to appreciate cars! I didn't expect to have a blast, but I did! Plus, I was really starting to understand how I should take photos!
Yes, I know there is still a large room for improvement, but hey, at least I'm making so improvements!
Trivia: Nat Chan mentioned that this car is more like a Gangsta car which somehow explains my pose.

Taking a Break at 5:00 pm
This one caught my attention because of the doors and of course the design. I believe this is a modified Honda Civic.
At this point, it was already an hour past the opening (which was 5:00pm), and we were getting tired. I realized how difficult it is to cover an event outdoor because of the extreme heat!

As seen in the photo, I was getting pretty exhausted, but I still manage to strike a "pose" for this photo. I found the car interesting because it was different from the rest, and the fact that it was a "jeep".
At this point, it was already nearing 6:00pm indicating that we were taking photos for about 2 hours already!

You now reached the final photo I took for the event! The day practically went well, and stunning even! We were all tired during that time, so we decided to reward ourselves by eating in
Yabu! That's a different story (blog post for this matter), so, there you have it - the first ever car show that I attended!
Special thanks to Nat Chan and Alberto Del Rosario for helping me out in naming the model of the cars and to JD Castillo for tagging along as well in this event!
