Tim Ho Wan Opens Up in Robinsons Place Ermita
After learning about the opening of a Tim Ho Wan branch in the place where we do field work, we made sure to drop a visit to have bite of the famous Baked Buns with Pork BBQ! Plus, we were somehow celebrating the promotion of our friend Lyca.
In this particular visit, we only had 3 dishes, which I'll be sharing in a while, but what I really want to share with you is the fact that there is now a Tim Ho Wan branch in Robinsons Place Manila!
The interior of this branch is similar to that of the one in SM Megamall (read more), which is the first-ever branch here in the Philippines. However, this one is less grand in a sense that it is less spacious.
It was somehow merienda time when dropped by; hence, we didn't need to wait just to be seated. However, by the time we started ordering, there was already a number of people lining up.
Again, the interior is line with that of the main branch, but because of the different (i.e. narrow) structure of the interior, it didn't seem as fancy and grand.
Baked Buns with Pork BBQ || P145 - 3 pieces
This baked bun is what we were really after during that time. It's really easy to fall in love and miss the delicate pastry enveloping the savory and rightly sweet pork barbecue filling. A definite must-try!
Steamed Egg Cake || P85
The steamed egg cake is one of my favorites here in Tim Ho Wan aside from the baked buns. Unfortunately, this one that we had was not as incredible as the ones I've tried before in the main branch. In this sense, it was a downer.
Beancurd Skin Roll with Pork and Shrimp || P120
This beancurd skin roll tasted really superb with its flavorful sauce. However, I found the beancurd skin slightly tough that slightly leveled down the experience, but other than that it was tasty and lovely!
Let me share with you this photo of us with the famous baked buns! Also, congratulations to our dear Lyca for being promoted as a senior associate!

Although my experience here in this branch is not as good as that in the SM Megamall branch, I was still able to appreciate the dishes we had. I'm still hoping for the best because I understand that the restaurant is still under a soft opening.
Also, I'm just happy that there is already a more accessible Tim Ho Wan branch near us.
