Famous Brian Ribs in Casa Verde Too, SM Megamall

Famous Brian Ribs and Giant Burger in Casa Verde, SM Megamall

Casa Verde is a very popular restaurant in Cebu, and it often finds its place in the top must-visit restaurants in the said destination. Luckily for us Manileños, we no longer need to travel all the way to Cebu just to try the famous Brian's Ribs or the gigantic Mighty Ton burger.

By the way, if you want to check out my review on the Cebu branch in The Walk, you may do so here - Casa Verde in Cebu City - a Manileño Food Review

Casa Verde in SM Megamall

The interior here in Casa Verde still has this cozy and homey feel, but not as much as the ones found in Cebu. Well, maybe that's just in the mind, since we often convince ourselves that there is always something that the "replicates" will never copy. Anyway, the overall ambiance still was conducive for an enjoyable dining experience.

Okay, so I will no longer hold you for so long and proceed with the food here in Casa Verde.

Best Sampler of Starters || P290
A collection of golden fried cheese, potato skins and buffalo wings served with sides of marinara sauce, sour cream and bleu cheese dip

This appetizer offered a great mix of flavors, but comparing this to the one I had in Cebu, this set looked "sadder" when we speak of the appearance. However, setting this aside, I really enjoyed the mozzarella sticks!

Buffalo Wings || P188
Breaded chicken wings fried until golden, tossed in a "Winger" sauce, and served with bleu cheese dressing

The buffalo wings here in Casa Verde may lack great appearance, but it had this amazing flavorful kick!

Brian's Ribs || P275 - Single || P950 - Bucket
The best-seller here in Casa Verde with a sweet, tangy piquet sauce served with rice, corn & carrots

The ribs here is surely a must-try! You'll just love the Pinoy sweetness mixed with tangy smokey taste. Oh, another interesting thing about the ribs here is the sauce that almost tasted like the Jack Daniel's sauce of Friday's.

Note: The bucket is good for 4 people. It comes with a pitcher of iced tea and a platter of corn & carrots.

The Mighty Ton || P888
A kilo of USDA tenderloin and stuff in Casa Verde's homemade 12-inch bun with all the trimmings of 125 grams of bacon, an overload of American cheese, lettuce, tomatoes sauteed onions and mushrooms.

The Mighty Ton surely is a mouthful, as it normally can be shared by about 8 people. Plus, there is a good (but slightly "bitin") serving of flavored fries on the side.

What's really interesting about this burger was its sheer size, but the great thing is it still has decent flavors. The patty may be considerably thin, perhaps because the bun is relatively thicker which somehow "dilute" the taste of the ingredients in between. Overall, the taste may not be extremely noteworthy, but my friends affirmed that it still was good.

Casa Verde - Overall Ratings and Summary

Value for Money ★★
Budget: at least P300 each for a moderate to heavy dining experience for a group coming in 4

It sure is fantastic to feast here in Casa Verde because the dishes we had (i.e. the ribs and the burger) were insanely huge in serving. This makes the prices all worth it! I highly suggest this place for family or barkada eat out. It will be lighter on your wallet, but not on your tummy.
