Korean Grilling and BBQ in Gangnam Style, Harbor Square
Gangnam Style Korean BBQ is a restaurant catering to your grilled bbq cravings amid the busyness of Harbor Square at night. If in case you are not aware, Harbor Square turns as an "inuman" place during the night where you can chill and enjoy with your friends. Since we happened to be within the area after attending a friend's concert in CCP, we decided to explore this place a bit, and that's how we ended up in Gangnam Style.
Dining the Korean way
Although there is some kind of "dreariness" with the ambiance here in Gangnam Style (probably due to the lack of proper lighting), this was somehow compensated by the dining set up here in this restaurant. You'll be immersed in the culture by dining the way Koreans usually do (although, again, it may arguably be a "Japanese" kind of dining).
Authentic variety ranging from affordable to expensive
The menu of Gangnam Style is filled up with varieties of traditional Korean dishes, including bundles/promos for the grillings. Some parts of the menu look very much within the budget, but other items seemed to be breaking it. Anyway, let's check out what we had for the night.
We for the night, we availed of the Promo Mix Set A worth P1,300. It composes of Moksal (170g), Daejigalbi (250g), Chadolbagi (150g), Kimchijigae and Gaeranmalyi. The mix was presumably good for 3-4.
The Gaeranmalyi (photo above) was an interesting dish. It got this subtle flavor that went well with the smooth texture of the egg. The meat component of the mix set are shown in the photo below.
All of the meat served were of decent to high quality, as evidence by their tenderness and freshness. Also, just like typical Korean grilling restaurants, the appetizers are subject to unlimited refills, including the lettuce.
Budae Jjigae || P800
Hot noodles with ham, sausage and assorted vegetables
This dish is for those who hunger for spicy dishes. It is somehow similar to Jjampong, but only meatier and possibly less fierce. Also, although it may seem expensive, the dish is good for about 3-4 people. Honestly, I enjoyed it very much! The taste was very playful for the palate, and so I am giving this a thumbs up!
Oh by the way, you may check this place called Kim's Jjampong Food (read more) in Malate. They got amazing Jjampong!

Gangnam Style surprisingly surprised us with the warm service and great food selection. Although prices may seem very "unfriendly" at first, you'll soon realize that what you are paying for are all worth it. I do have an issue with the lack of lighting, though, but still, overall our experience was noteworthy! Do check it out.
