Pizza Express comes to Manila - Uptown Mall, BGC

The global pizza brand called “Pizza Express” just recently launched in Uptown Mall, bringing with it the mission of delighting foodies with top quality and fresh ingredients. While there may be several existing pizza chains already, Pizza Express promises something different with its incredible sourdough that further builds the quality and taste.

About Pizza Express
An iconic restaurant chain from the United Kingdom, Pizza Express is a restaurant serving handmade happiness through its beautiful pizzas since 1965. It's inspired by the finest pizzerias in Italy. Each pizza is handcrafted by expert Pizzaiolos with great quality dough topped with the freshest ingredients.

Chefs of Pizza Express

We were one of the few who where given the opportunity to be part of the grand launching held in the restaurant which is attended by several officers from different international branches (and offices) of Pizza Express. It shows how much of a family they were which showed from the friendly and vibrant mood of the servers. Chefs also trained in Hong Kong to perfect the art of making and baking the sourdough

The interior of Pizza Express is modern with hints of sophistication while carefully not overdoing it so as to preserve the friendliness appeal of the restaurant. This is even built up by the noticeable “openness” of the interior.

Now let's check out some of the dishes served!

Leggera Superfood Salad of Pizza Express

The Leggera Superfood Salad is undoubtedly a healthy dish with light and soft taste in each bite. It was wonderful for the burrata to be there, but it would be better to have more of the dressing to power up the flavors. Fret not because you can request for additional if this happens.

Of course, the experience will not be complete without tasting the famous sourdough pizza!

Margherita Classic Pizza of Pizza Express

The Margherita Classic Pizza brought bliss in each forkful. I loved how crisp the crust was yet has this dreamy chewiness that made each bite momentous. The sauce was aptly applied which equally spread focus on to the sauce and the ingredients. In short, the balance brought beauty to the taste. Two thumbs up! Excellent.

Spaghetti Frutti di Mare of Pizza Express

The Spaghetti Frutti di Mare was a supreme source of surprise. Each twirl gave burst of lively seafood flavors sensationalized with a hint of spiciness. I couldn’t recall the last time I fell in love with a pasta, but this brought back the spark. A must-try.

Tiramisu of Pizza Express

The Tiramisu was delicate with harmonious coffee tang and sweetness. There's nothing too overpowering which allowed us to not easily tire of the dessert. In fact, I could have finished this had I not been too full during that time.

Baked Dough Balls with Nutella

Now, if you are not in a mood for pizza, you can still experience the magnificence of their sourdough by going for the Baked Dough Balls with Nutella. Nothing beats a "sweet" ending!
