Trufa Pasta Bar is a must-try for pasta-lovers!

Trufa Pasta Bar is a must-try for pasta-lovers!

On my very first payday in my new job, we decided to try out something "worthwhile". This is how we ended up here in Trufa Pasta Bar as suggested by one of my officemates. She mentioned that this restaurant was able to capture her heart, and she wanted me to also try to "fall in love".

Modernly sophisticated and cozy
Upon entering the restaurant, I immediately felt the air of 'balanced' sophistication -- classy yet not intimidating. It has this predominance of black and other neutral colors that makes the place look elegant. For a place and ambiance like this, I already expected that the prices may not be 'too friendly', yet still something I'd try.

Specialization and lean menu
Trufa's menu is lean -- containing a few items on salads, appetizers, drinks and of course the pasta dishes. I'm usually more fan of more variety and choices, but there are times that a specialized menu works for me, including this one.

Croquetes de Quezo of Trufa Pasta Bar

The Croquetes de Quezo (P195) was "to die for" almost literally. This is the reason cited by the server on why our dishes got delayed. They wanted to serve the appetizers first, and this one takes time to be prepared. We needed to inform our boss that we will be coming back late.

Anyway, it was worth the "risk" since the texture was all-dreamy.

How it works in Trufa Pasta Bar?
There are 3 basic steps when ordering pasta here in Trufa. First off, you'll be picking our sauce. Next, you'll be choosing your pasta, and finally some add-ons (optional).

Ajillo Trufa Pasta Bar

This one is Ajillo + Spaghetti (P195). It has a rich garlic flavor and relatively balanced. Good for those who are not much into red or white sauce.

Trufa Pasta in Trufa Pasta Bar

This one is Trufa sauce (their signature sauce containing truffle oil) + Spaghetti + Panceta (P350 + P60 for the add on). While it was incredibly tasty which magically matched the al dente texture of the pasta, I feel that this is kinda "pricey". Now, if you have extra budget, I really suggest that you give this a try. Otherwise, you can check out the Bolognese instead.

This is my personal order which is a combination of Bolonesa de Casa + Pappardelle (P280). It had a wonderful meaty texture with the semi-sweet tangy sauce -- a mark of authenticity. It went fantastically well with the Pappardelle, so I'm suggesting you also pick this combination. I'm definitely coming back for this!

Trufa Pasta Bar
may come in very pricey at first sight, but this comes with great quality and experience. It was too bad that the dishes were served untimely (exceeding 25 minutes). Still, I was impressed by how fantastic the pasta was as well as the sauce. Ambiance also adds up to the fantastic pasta-time!
