Little Caesars Pizza Makes a Comeback in Manila
Little Caesars was my first exposure to pizza. In fact, it’s my earliest memory of falling in love with the dish. I can still remember going gaga once the huge rectangular box got delivered in our home. My brothers and sister would be flocking to it, cutting a slice and munching on them over giggles and smiles. In reference to Disney’s Inside Out, this is part of my core memory. This then explains why it was heartbreaking when we found out that Little Caesar would be saying goodbye in the Philippines. As a kid, it could have been my initial idea of a “breakup”.
Now, fast forward into the future, Little Caesars made a comeback this January 2019. The kid in me rejoiced, and just this week, my family decided to go down the memory lane and refresh ourselves with an old-time favorite.
Currently, Little Caesar’s only have one branch which is located in United Nations (near a Yellow Cab store). We’re lucky we live within the vicinity.
...this excitement turned into a feeling of concern when I saw the store empty
When I saw the logo, it was nostalgic. Memories and the emotions along with them gushed over me. I got excited. However, this excitement turned into a feeling of concern when I saw the store empty. I tried to understand – maybe the interior isn’t as inviting? Too simple? Regardless, I shrugged it off as we moved to the counter to have our orders taken.
Lean and a bit of underwhelming menu
When faced with the menu, I felt underwhelmed. The menu looked bare. There were just about 5 flavors/toppings to choose from, and there are no pasta dishes. The iconic rectangular pizza wasn’t also available. Well, they do somehow, but only with a solo order (i.e. not the same thing). My heart was getting crushed at this point, but for old time’s sake, we still pushed through with 2 orders of pizza and a soft drink.
It’s like having an ex return for you, then just leaving you again soon.
While waiting, I tried understanding why Little Caesar opened up “half-baked”. I don’t want them to make a short comeback, then just disappear again. It’s like having an ex return for you, then just leaving you again soon. It’s double the heartbreak.
A make-it-or-break-it moment
Suddenly, when the pizza, all in bright orange, finally came, I paused. It was a make-it-or-break-it moment. The aroma was rich. I was gaining hope. Then, I opened the box, had I been overly dramatic, I would cry. The pizza looked fresh, oozing with vibrant, gooey mozzarella. “Fresh” is an understatement. It looked “alive” breathing with so much goodness!
...the cheese, the sauce and the toppings started sliding down. It was that freshly made.
I took a slice, and the cheese, the sauce and the toppings started sliding down. It was that freshly made. I sliced it down further, took a bite, and the next thing I knew, I was blown away. I just loved how soft the dough was. It complimented the fresh gooey cheese and sauce along with the toppings. This softness was unique. I can’t remember having a pizza this easy to chew.
Three-Meat Pizza of Little Caesars (Highly Recommended)
A hot-sauce worth remembering
When we thought things couldn’t get any better, it did. The hot sauce that it came with was as good as we remembered it back during our childhood days. It was bell peppery less the sting and more of the sensation and the flavor. Seconds later, I was hit again with intense nostalgia as I saw ourselves munching and giggling over the pizza. It was just like the good ‘ol days.
I highly recommend Three-Meat Treat
For the pizza, I highly recommend Three-Meat Treat. It's the best among 3 that we've tried so far.
Little Caesars - Overall Ratings and Summary

Little Caesar’s may fall short when it comes to ambiance and “marketing”, but it definitely overcompensated with the simple yet captivating goodness of their pizza. Its very much underrated, and I couldn’t understand why it’s not making much noise. If you haven’t tried Little Caesar’s, I’m urging you to go for it. Who knows, how long they will be there. Experience something different, because just when I thought I knew pizza so well, there was another side of it that was introduced to me here. Check it out!
