Shaburi's Unlimited Japanese Hotpot for P699 Only
The era of samgyupsal has been drawing out crowds from traditional buffet places. More and more samgyup restaurants are popping here and there, and people are becoming more obsessed about meat. For sure, you know a handful of friends who eat in samgyupsal restaurantsalmost once a week, and perhaps more.
However, we can't hide the truth that too much of the grilling harms the body (bad cholesterol and carcinogens). Hence, people will soon begin to balance this out with alternatives. One of which is hotpot. It curbs down the health issue, but it still gives you your carnivorous satisfaction.
Shaburi is one of the few hotpot restaurants serving unlimited meat. Since it's Japanese, you can expect things to be healthier, which is why you'll find a handful of fresh vegetable selections to even out the meat.
This particularly branch we visited is located in the 4th floor of Uptown Mall, BGC. The ambiance is simplistic yet has this air of elegance. This makes the restaurant ideal for family celebrations, barkada get-together and possibly casual dates.
You'll find a spread at the center of the restaurant containing all the inclusions of the buffet. All of these are unlimited as well.
For appetizers, they have marbled potatoes, nori fries, chicken karaage (a must-try!) and sushi rolls.
There are more than 10 vegetables to choose from to flavor up your broths. You can experiment different combinations because you can have your broth refilled (though for the succeeding refills they use regular broth only).
They also have this long-stemmed mushroom (which I don't know how it's called) as well as enoki mushrooms which you are probably more familiar with. This goes well with the creamy white sauce.
For those who can't survive without carbs, they have a couple of noodles to choose from -- flat ones, thin ones, and thick ones.
Shaburi offers flavored broth for your first soup base.
You can choose among the following: original konbu, sukiyaki, beef pepper, chicken collagen and hot miso. However, succeeding refills are just regular broth.

However, you can still make your soup interesting by mixing spices and experimenting on various combinations. Your creativity is the limit.
To further make things more enjoyable, Shaburi also supplements our hotpot experience with a considerably wide selection of drinks. They are unlimited too!
In this section, you'll also find a soft-serve ice cream machine. You can have as much ice cream as you want.
The meat selection is not found on the spread. You'll have to personally ask for refills from the servers. Choices of meat depend upon the type of unli-meat hotpot you availed (scroll below for the list, including the rates).
Quality of the meat was sustained throughout our stay, which is very commendable for Shaburi.
Here's a photo of us all delighted with our Shaburi experience.

Planning to dine in? Check out the rates below. The one we availed and featured in this blog post is the regular shabu, which already does the trick. However, if you want to splurge on higher quality of meat and more varieties, feel free to level up your buffet experience.

Note that there is time limit of 2 hours for your hotpot (so there goes the limit for the supposedly unlimited hotpot). However, based on our experience, the two hours are sufficient enough for you to enjoy and be all filled up.

Shaburi impresses with its high-quality meat together with its sufficient variety of vegetables, spices and sauces. Frankly, I feel that the buffet experience can still be topped over by having special dishes that is uniquely Shaburi. Still, we were able to savor the authenticity of the food, and we can see ourselves going back once again in the next 3 months.
Samgyupsal still is undeniably more indulgent. However, once people realize that it can do more harm than pleasure, they'll look for some healthier alternatives. Having said this, I have a feeling that hotpot buffet will be the next big thing for 2020.
