Review: The Manila Baker's (TMB) Classic Basque Burnt Cheesecake
The Manila Baker's (or also known by its acronym TMB) is one of the homebakers who were already serving this Basque Burnt Cheesecake even before it took the internet by storm, and I was very thankful that I got to encounter TMB when I was browsing online to buy a cheesecake for my brother and sister's birthday. Such a lovely cake to top off our celebration!
Ordering via Instagram
The ordering process was a bit brick-and-mortar wherein you'll scroll through TMB's IG page (@themanilabaker), to look for the menu and then sending a DM to initiate the ordering process. Fortunately, the seller responds promptly, making it convenient.I just filled in the details needed, and paid via e-wallet.
It was also great that they accept advanced/scheduled order, since I wanted it to be delivered on the twins' actual birthday.
...light bready texture yet still melts in your mouth with this rich cheesiness
I was able to get the cake as agreed, and I was surprised by its weight when I lifted the box containing the Basque Burnt Cheesecake 8" (P1,200). Right then, I already felt positive that we'll enjoy the cake, and soon enough I was able to confirm that when we start indulging over it.
The cake was crazily dreamy. It was how I imagined a Basque Burnt Cheesecake to be -- light bready texture yet still melts in your mouth with this rich cheesiness. Best of all, it was not overly sweet allowing you to focus on the moment that fluffiness and creaminess in the end as the cake fully melts in your palate. I highly recommend this!
